I can't even believe the amount of new visitors I've been getting here in the past few days (hello!), it's really been overwhelming, encouraging, and downright awesome. I wanted to thank everyone for taking the time to look around and for all the really wonderful comments folks have been leaving. It means a lot to know people enjoy what I do, so thank you! Tons!
That said -- egads, I should probably update a little more. I'll be attempting to put up the past month or so's backlog in a series of posts over the next week or two, as well as setting up permanent pages for the comics I've done and eventually linking to those here as well.
In the meantime, some ladies, some monsters, some things! (click to enlarge)

Please do! I enjoy your work so much! It's beautiful, funny, unique and relatable. You're one of my new favorite illustrators :)

More posts please! I came across your blog by way of Drawn which had a post on on "His Face All Red." Really awesome work, can't wait to see more!
ReplyDeleteI watch you on DeviantArt and was so excited you had a blog. I love your art! And yes, update more please! Hehehe.
ReplyDeleteI think all this rush is coming from Drawn for sure.
ReplyDeleteI also watch you on DA, but I never knew you had a blog! Nor did I realize you're part of the storybook project, which I adore. I've been a fan for ages.
I got here via @nedroid's twitter feed (and later saw a link on Colleen Doran's Facebook or blog (can't remember)). You have a new fan, loved the story and your other art.
ReplyDeletebecause you're amaaaaazing~ found you through your comic, like Casey Crowe up there.
ReplyDeleteAre you going to offer any of your original art for sale, or make any prints available? I love your literary interpretations (the recent Brave New World images were fantastic!).
ReplyDeleteHoly crap Emily, well done!! Your comic is EVERYWHERE!

ReplyDeleteI found you because of reddit as well and let me say, your illustration style is AMAZING. You also are everything I want to be as an illustrator--- someone with a distinct style who knows how to use colors and make characters come alive.
ReplyDeleteThe final thing is that I appreciate so much how you draw more curvy figures on women :) From "face all red" the plump wife is simply beautiful.
I hope you post more soon!

Found "His Face All Red" through Reddit, and even though it's probably been said to death: amazing work. The story, your style, color work, even the type placement and page breaks - all stunning. It's been a good while since I've made art, but that made me want to start drawing again.
ReplyDeleteThank you. Beautiful work.
I was linked to "His Face All Red" through a message board, tried to view the index of your website and was redirected here.

Hi Emily!
ReplyDeleteA friend refered me to your website to read His Face All Red, and I loved so many different aspects of it- color is beautiful and full, panels are cleverly rendered and move with the story and compose the images very well. The story itself is intriguing, EGADS! what happened to his brother?!
Having said this, I wanted to contact you about potentially submitting an image for a music/comic zine, please let me know if you'd be interested in doing something like this. I couldn't find any contact information, so I decided to leave you a comment!
With admiration,
Dragana
You should really consider publishing a graphic novel. Your art is as good as or better than anything I've seen before. Thanks for sharing these images and stories.

Wound up here 'cause Gabe of Penny-arcade.com posted a link to "His Face All Red" on his twitter.
ReplyDeleteMy wife absolutely loves the comic. Is there any way to purchase prints of your work? My wife would die if I got her prints of "His Face All Red" for Christmas. She has always been into the writing styles of Poe and Gorey, and I think this particular story falls into that tradition quite well! Please let me know if there is a way to purchase prints!
I found you via "His Face All Red" which was forwarded to me by a friend. Awesome comic and now I'd like to see more of your works..
ReplyDelete"His Face All Red" freaked me right the eff out, which isn't easy! I loved it! (Saw it when Neil Gaiman tweeted the link, btw!)

Do you sell prints anywhere? :-D
Like everyone else, I loved His Face All Red. I thought that the art, script and storytelling were all incredible, and above all the pacing was just masterful. As close to perfection as I've ever seen. I'm now really enjoying looking through your other art. I'm really looking forward to watching your career inevitably flower.
ReplyDeleteAre you "Lewis Carroll" related? It would be awesome :D
